Hatch is not visible in Model space or paper space

Hi There,

I have been trying to hatch a portion of a wall with the concrete hatch. It is not annotative hatch, my drawing is not in an annotative scale at all. I can see one of my hatches that I did during another work session and it is at the correct scale. But, even when I try to copy this good hatch and stretch it accordingly to suit the new wall shape, it disappears.

I saw other posts about the annotative scale, but my hatch is not annotative, so I don't think this is the issue.

Please help!

Hi,

If you see a hatch pattern in one space of your drawing but not in another space of the same drawing I think your FILLMODE setting may not be a problem.

Do you see the hatch border for the one that has no pattern displayed?

  • In current versions of AutoCAD the "Hatch Editor" ribbon appears automatically when you select a hatch.
  • You can also edit the hatch with the Hatch Edit GUI by typing HATCHEDIT.
  • You may also use the -HATCHEDIT command to alter hatch settings from the command line (also appears in popup menus if Dynamic Input is on.

What happens when you attempt to edit the non-displayed hatch pattern or scale with one of the above methods?

Anything?

Maybe a screenshot of the hatch properties.

Post your file and we can try to help further.

Hi Blaine,

I checked the fillmode and it is set to '1'.

I cannot see the hatch border for my non-visible hatch. What is happening that with my hatch scale set to 1, I cannot see the hatch. When I set the hatch scale to 2, or 3, or 5 for example I can see the hatch but it is too large for what I want. Once I make it 1 or smaller scale it goes invisible. I have attached two screenshots. One with the hatch scale set at 1, and one with the hatch scale set at 4.

Hi @jayhar ,

When I enter GRAPHICSCONFIG the properties box pops up that I have have attached in the image to the message. I'm not sure if I should disable my hardware acceleration. Will this cause my issues further down the road?

@s.borello  I have attached the CAD file. It's not only the concrete hatch, it's any hatch which is not solid. The scales are all messed up.

Hi,

That is what I see:

I can also see that there are already 3 hatches created in that area.

You have got one suggestions, but I have not seen an answer for that ... have you used command _GRAPHICSCONFIG and turned off hardware acceleration?

Also please show us a screenshot of command _ABOUT so we see which version and update of AutoCAD you are working with.

You might also try to raise the setting of HPMAXLINES to 10000000 (and run _REGEN then).

Hi @Alfred.NESWADBA  and all,

The solution was the HPMAXLINES scale. It was set to 100, so I changed it to 100000 and that worked!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
