Grid Field Reference Text

I am looking to improve the efficiency of plotting grid references (ie. A1, B1, A2, B2) as shown on the attached screenshot;

I have tried importing data from Excel but the AutoCAD table does not appear to allow the table to be shrunk beyond a certain size - see attached file.

Any suggestions welcome.

@Jake_PCH ,

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish, but setting your cell margins to 0 will help you make the table smaller:

I'm simply trying to remove the laborious requirement of entering each individual grid reference - ie. A1, A2, A3... B1, B2, B3 - in place of automated field inputs, such as by using Excel and copying the field data into AutoCAD.

So far, the best solution I've found is to paste the Excel fields (using 'Paste Special' - 'AutoCAD entities') directly into the paper space and overlay it with the drawing.

You have multiple options to remedy this:

- Add a pre-filled table into your template file (.dwt)

- Create a pre-filled table as a block and insert as necessary

- Use AutoLISP to help you create this table whenever you need

- Use DATALINKS to link to an Excel file with your data

- Create an OLE showing an excel file
