gray tool tips block my view on plan. How can I turn off?

When working on a plan, I pick a command and a grey list of tool tips appears.  It will block the area I am working on and I can't select what is beneath it. I zoom in and out to get around it, but that is inconvenient.  How can I toggle this on and off?  Thanks a bunch.

1-is it happening alwasye on every drawing or in spatial file?

2-is it happening on a new drawings ?

3-did you tried your file in  other computers?

if you can send a screen capture from your display

You could be seeing Dynamic Input. Turn it off at the command line with DYNMODE = 0 or make the change from the Status Bar or Drafting Settings. A snapshot of what you are seeing would help us to help you.

Thanks for trying to help me.  Yes it does happen on every plan and on every computer.  I'm not sure tool tip is the right term.  Here is an example:

Q:is there certain command that this Tip appeared under?

maybe ROLLOVERTIPS system variable will help if you change it to ( 0 ) Zero.

What version of ACAD are you using and are you using a computer with 4k resolution by any chance? Does any of this help:

This gray bar is your Commandline history showing.

Try docking your commandline at the bottom of your screen so it shows 3 lines of text instead of the 1 in the floating commandline.

Good thought, but I tried ROLLOVERTIPS and the grey text area is still there.  The information it gives is like a status update of what you are doing or have just done.

You gave me something to work with. I did a search on turning off commandline history and found that the variable CLIPROMPTLINES set to 0 turns this off.  Thanks for directing me!!
