GPU ACCELERATION ISSUE, AUTOCAD RUNNING ON A VIRTUAL MACHINE WITH ARM CHIP

I'm running AutoCad 2022 on a Parallels 17 virtual machine in a MacBook Pro with chip ARM. Everything is OK, but when a point cloud is attached, program claims for activate GPU acceleration to display de cloud. The GPU acceleration option is not available because of the ARM chip. Is it possible to solve this problem and continue to work with my point cloud on AutoCad? Thank you vary much

Please specify your Mac model.

I have no problems with displaying Point Cloud in AutoCAD installed on Parallels Desktop 17 - Version 17.1.4 (51567)- Virtual Machine (Windows 11 Pro ARM - Version 22H2, OS build 22621.160). I have Mac mini (M1, 2020) with 16 Gb shared memory.

Thank you very much for your kind and detailed explanation. I can see now that my problem is with the Windows 11 version. Mine is Windows 11 pro, but not Windows 11 pro arm. Apart from this everything is OK. All I need is a new version of Windows.

Can you you tell me if Autocad Revit also runs with Windows 11 Pro ARM? I have no problem with Revit and point clouds in  AutoCad 11 Pro (no ARM version).

Sorry, I was wrong about some important question: I have no Windows 11 Pro but Windows 11 Home. On the other hand I find your Version 22H2, OS build 22621.160 doesn't seem to be an specific version for ARM. Does it? Is it enough to update my Windows 11 Home version to Windows 11 Pro version?.

Are you sure that you have MacBook Pro with M1 chip (ARM)?

I'm asking, because on Mac with M1 chip you can only run ARM version of Parallels Desktop with ARM Windows version. So if you have Mac with M1 chip you already have Windows ARM version.

As for Home or Pro - I don't think there is a difference in graphics engine between these two versions of Windows.

You don't answered my question about Hardware Acceleration in AutoCAD 2022: Does it turned on?

And another question:

Where do you see "activate GPU acceleration to display the cloud" message?

About Revit - if you have enough RAM on your Mac and can assign at least 8 GB of RAM to Virtual Machine, then you will be able to use Revit.

I have a MacBook Pro 14" with chip M1 Max. Parallels 17 ARM Virtual Machine. But I think my Windows version is no ARM.

 

I have no available GPU acceleration options not in Parallels neither in AutoCad

Intel (amd64) version of Windows will not run on M1 Mac.

You can check your Windows architecture yourself.

Just now I tried to install Windows Home inside my PD and installed AutoCAD in it.

Hardware Acceleration is turned on by default on my side.

Can you try to use "Restore defaults" button in Graphics Performance window?

Then restart AutoCAD and look at Hardware Acceleration again.

There is no MacBook Pro 14" with chip M1 Max, only with M1 Pro chip:

Then I have another one question:

Does your Mac has 8-Core CPU or 10-Core CPU?

If it has 8-Core CPU, this might be a problem.

Hi Maxim! I apologize for my lack of knowledge. Every thing you said was wright. My Windows version is ARM based, and the "restaure defaults" bottom in AutoCad solved the problem. I have now my point cloud on my display.

 I'm very grateful to you. Now I can do my job!
