Finding point of specific distance between two lines

Hi everybody,

I was drawing a diagram of the elongation of bolts in engines, so I've got two intersecting lines at different angles. I now need to insert a line of a specific length in between those. I'm sure there is a simple way to find out where the horizontal distance between the two is the length I'm after but I was unable to figure it out. So if anybody could help me that would be awesome. PS: this is what I'm working on, and i need to find out where the distance between the angled lines equals the horizontal one.spanningrek.png

Copy either angled Line using the desired-length horizontal Line's endpoints for the Copy displacement [or, without a desired-length horizontal Line already drawn, Copy it horizontally by the length desired].  Where the new Line intersects the other angled Line will be one end of the desired location.

Its quite hard to understand completely what you are trying to do. There are two commands that could help

This can help you learn how to find the distance between two points. Or use the DIMENSION command to make your way through it.
