Files automatically grouping together when opening

When I open files through AutoCAD, they automatically group together by date modified as shown in the image. I right click and change the "group by" to none. This fixes the problem to show files in regular alphabetized order. But the next time i open the folder, it goes right back to the group by date look. This only happens for certain folders and once it begins I cannot get it back to the standard grouping of none.

What is unique about those files or where they are stored compared to all the other files?
And by chance isn't that how your Windows File Explorer set up to always display those particular files?

Questions:

What version of AutoCAD?

Do you have the latest updates installed?

Typically the OPEN command brings up a Select File window that shows a heading row which yours don't seem to show:
