Fatal Error upon startup

My AutoCAD 2000i installation began experiencing a fatal error upon startup about two months ago.  My computer was a Win7 system which was a few years old.  Neither a repair nor a reinstall would help.  I updated to a Win10 system and installed 2000i.  It has worked flawlessly until tonight.  Now I'm getting a fatal error msg "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e06d7363h Exception at 74dc1812h".  Is this due to Windows upgrades or something?

You are using a software from the last century on the most current operating system. Even if you get it working, every update of Windows (or an application on top of Windows) could damage it again.

I would recommend to install a virutal system (like >>>VirtualBox<<<), use Windows XP for that subsystem and install your AutoCAD 2000i there.

You need to buy a fix from these folks for your ancient software in a modern Windows version if you don't know how to use the advice given to you above https://www.longbowsoftware.com

I looked at the Longbow material and it looks promising.  I have written them and asked if it would resolve the fatal error upon startup problem that I am experiencing.  They did not specifically address that issue.  I also am not seeing much in the way of reviews.  Their website is impressive and appears to have been written by someone who knew what they were doing as opposed to just sales hype.  I see some potential here but would like to know more about it.
