F2 text window - Prevent autohide?

Upgraded from 2004 to 2016.

In 2004 when I hit the F2 key, the command window (or text window) would say open. In 2016 the window autohides if the cursor is not focused inside the command window.

I need to see numbers in the window while I am working on the drawing.

Is there a setting to bring back the 2004 behavior in regards to not autohiding the command window?

Thanks

Bill

This may not be a solution for you. I have a dual monitor setup. If I drag the text window to the other monitor it will stay open. However, if you only have one, I don't know what to say. Anyone else?

I am using dual monitors and have the text window/command line on the second monitor. (In 2004 the command line was separate from the F2 text window.)

I cannot get the text window to stay visible on either monitor without keeping the cursor focused.

You know Ctrl + F2 Views the command window again right?

I use Autocad C3D 2014. F2 or Control F2 accomplishes the same thing (no different). Yesterday my F2 key brought up a window in my 2nd monitor as it always has. I could leave it open (ignore it) or close it. This morning my F2 key only expands my command line 15 or so lines and will not remain open or allow me to move it to my second monitor (for a 'print screen' or copy, etc.). Must be some silly button I accidently toggled? Anyone know? Thanks

Nope.  This is broken now too.  The only way to see the text window is to minimize the Autocad main window.  I followed the knowledge base article to no avail as well.

Did you try Ctrl + F2?
