EXPORTING .SKP TO .DWG 3D

When exporting a .skp model containing named groups, the names will appear at the cad model origin. In the attached example, the cylinder is a component, and it's name does not appear at the cad origin. The cube is named group, and its name does appear at the cad origin. How can i stop this quirky behavior?

PS I tried to attach the .skp file (sketchup), but its extension was not authorized for posting.

Hi,

>> When exporting a .skp model

Do I understand that correct that you use SketchUp to create a DWG? Then this is a SketchUp function ... you should ask in a SketchUp forum, not in the AutoCAD forum.

You might try the other way to IMPORT a SKP model/file into AutoCAD by starting AutoCAD and use command _IMPORTSKP. (But that is the other direction)

Thank you

I wonder when will we be able to import the current version (2017) of .skp files? Right now, in SketchUp, I’m forced to save-as version 8 to avoid an AutoCAD import failure.
