Excluding items from Purge

Does anyone know if you can exclude items from being purged, or being 'suggested / listed' for purging, as it were?

I've looked around in settings, etc., but haven't seen anything myself.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can from Purge dialog do that by Clicking the checkbox next to an item to add or remove it from the list of items you want to purge. >> Click <<

@gary.sutton9KV7N ,

To exclude items from being purged, only check the items to purge in the dialog box.

If the dialog box is missing, look into this link:

Thank you both for your answers, however, I already know this, as it is elementary - I suppose how I should have framed my query is... 'how do I stop AutoCAD from suggesting them in the first place?' (I know that I could leave them in the drg. somewhere, so that they're being 'used' and won't be suggested for deletion, but suppose I didn't want that, but didn't want them on the purge list, all the same??)

Use them!

For example Layer: Create a Block with one object per layer, make sute your drawing file contains one blockreference of this block,

used objects can't purged, so they never offered to purge.

Yes, thank you! I know this - as I've stated above - but I wondered if there was an exclusion list; personally I think that this would be a handy feature to have in a drawing.

Thanks again, for the sake of it, I'll close this discussion out.

sorry, i didn't read the end of your post 🙄

You have "to use" them, but there are some more hidden ways to do that (in use, means that one or more pointers to this item, also non graphic objects can link to them).

If nobody is faster, I will post a sample later

p.s. I've just made a 'Purge Exclusion Block' which I placed everything in (that I want to keep), then set that onto a 'Phantom' layer which I then hide / freeze / turn off etc.
