We use the 'Paste Special' command to link Excel spreadsheets into AutoCAD for our schedules. When someone else in the office tries to open drawings for review (either in AutoCAD 2015 or TrueView), they get a notification that "(filename).xls is locked for editing", and they have to accept Read Only to continue. If there are 50 schedules, this can go on for minutes just to get the .dwg file open. If we're looking in TrueView (or read-only AC) and can't modify the spreadsheets in any case, why do we go through all this? Should we be linking the spreadsheets in a different way?
Thanks!
Tim
