Errors found when opening drawings - recovery (PC) - Server path has changed.

Hi, We are in the process of changing our server path. As we are trying to migrate to Google File Stream so people can work from home over the current local server see related post here -

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-forum/migrated-to-google-file-stream-is-there-a-way-t...

The majority of users are using Mac's with AutoCAD MAC LT. However, we have a few users who are using a Windows PC with AutoCAD 2020 or 2019/18. For these, there is an error popping up each time a file is opened stating it needs to be recovered. While this is common occasionally. it's a bit alarming that it is happening each time the open the file (attached screenshot)

Please can someone shed some light on this and if there perhaps is a setting or way to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Tom

Hi Pendean,

  • Drawing file is corrupted.
  • Faulty AutoCAD installation.
  • For AutoCAD Plant 3D and P&ID, xrefs which are not included in the project are attached to the file.

It only happens when opening files on a Windows PC CAD not on a MAC CAD LT.

Therefore it rules out the first one.

However multiple PC users reporting the same problem thefore rules out 2nd one.

We dont use any Plant 3D / P&ID.

However it may be the missing Xref's relating to the change in path location? So if have tried manually re-linking one file and leaving the other with missing links. I've asked the users expereiencing issues to open both files to see if they get any errors. Hopefully this will narrow down the issue. Will post back once they've replied.

Thanks

Tom
