Error when receiving .DWG from an older AutoCAD

I received this from someone running AutoCAD 2011. Instead of points, what should be there, there are boxes with no coordinates.

Ask that person to EXPORT the drawing as plain autocad.

If you are using plain AutoCAD, you need the Civil 3D Object Enabler.

That is what this dialog is telling you.
