Dynamic block text attribute with frame around it

I created a dynamic block with text attribute and a frame (box) around it in such a way, that I can strech the box to make it longer (to fit any longer text. Dont know how to do it so it would strech automaticly), I can move the text (but it moves without the box but when I move the box, text moves with it (as I want it) but the whole arrangement changes which is annoying.

Sometimes when I move the box with the text in it the box gets squished or gets a lot bigger. I tried reseting the attribute and BATTMAN command - it works but it resets the possition of the attribute to the default one and it makes it even worse cause only the box get defaulted and the text stays in the spot where I placed it.

I have attached the file below.

Does anyone have a solution how to create this dynamic block or maybe can fix that one? I might be doing something wrong with it and not be aware.

Why did you delete every option that was in it and left only streching out?

What about moving the box? Thats the option crutial for me.

What version of Autocad are you using? I know with 2016 there is a frame option within the properties of the text itself that allows you to turn frames on and off. This frame automatically adjusts with the text when you edit it. In the Properties palette under the Text category "Text Frame" is the very last option and it can be toggled on and off. Perhaps that might work for you in this instance.

That what I had a problem with. How did You do it so the text moves with it?

Could You write it step by step please?

Well, you have to create the parameter point, then you insert the action move, you got to select every object in the block you want it to move including the text.

See, everything dashed was selected.

The thing is, I dont want to put Your file into my drawing and put the levels in by hand (it would take a lot of time), I just want to edit the existing block into working one. Could ou tell me how to do that. I selected everything with the option move, I noticed I had to change the Distance properties number to 1 (at the very bottom of properties panel) but its still not working 😕

I cant manage to lock the text inside the box as You did. My text still has two of those vertexes that allow movement and Your doesnt (see attachement)

Do you mean that can be used in Attribute text as well?

You would think this would be a more interesting topic to the AutoCAD world at large, but in fact this is the only relevant hit I got when doing a search on how to put a "frame" around attribute text.

As it is, the frame STILL does not expand/contract to accommodate the length of the text. You have to move the length yourself. You'd think you could automate this somehow by having the text-length parameter feed into the length of the box.

Any ideas?

I don't think there is an option to include a box around attribute that automatically stretches as you edit the attribute text in a block, which is really frustrating, not only that, imagine, up to AutoCAD 2014, there was no real text box (even for normal MTEXT) that can automatically stretch to follow the edited text (although I use an indirect way to do it with 2014). after that, Autodesk introduced the text box.

Any thoughts?

There ya go.

I needed to convert bottom elevations to soundings, but the existing points were just SPOT blocks with Elev attributes (from Land Desktop).

Solution:  MLEADER with frame.  Bada Bing.
