.dwg to .stl, incorrect construction of the model.

Hello,

I have two questions here.

I have a problem when I export Autocad Model into a .stl file. The model is not completely and correctly constructed (as seen on the screenshots 124 and 125 below). I had the same problem with similar models but I tried to move them, copy-past them into different drawing and somehow it worked, they got constructed correctly but with this model, I have tried everything, even using Autocad 2014 and it did not work. Every time I tried to export it, the model was incorrectly constructed. In Fusion 360 I did not have that problem but then I had a problem with 3D printing the model.

Since we are at the same model I have one more short question.

Is it possible in Autocad 2018 to select one profile and to sweep it to multiple paths at once so I do not have to do it manually for every single path which is a very time consuming, especially for making my model (screenshot 123)?

Best regards,

Daniel.

Try increasing the FACETRES value(max value is 10) and see if that corrects the issue with the model

Hi,

>>  copy-past them into different drawing and somehow it worked

you may need to check the units of your drawing.

>> Is it possible in Autocad 2018 to select one profile and to sweep it to multiple paths at once

You can sweep more than one profile object along a path.

Regarding "select one profile and to sweep it to multiple paths at once".

Try the attached LISP file

Thank you for your response

.

I increased the FACETRES to 10 and it did not make any difference, again incorrect construction of the model.

Also at the end of the exporting process, I get note above the command bar saying:

''The Boolean operation on solid and/or surface bodies failed.''

''Modeling Operation Error.''

''Error Code Numer is 84030'', as you can see on the screenshot.

I believe one or more of your 3d elements have some errors, which results in this. Can you upload the file here?

  • Also regarding ''sweep along multiple paths'' I uploaded the LISP file and the only difference was that the profile was not deleted. Even though I tried to select multiple paths, it only chose one to sweep along and not all.

I checked your file and tried to UNION 5-10 solids at a time and found 2 solids with some errors. the remaining were pretty much good. I am attaching the file here. You can see 2 red colored solids which gives error while Union. try re-modeling those 2. I also tried to 3D print the Union object and it was successful. If I tried to include the 2 solids with error. then the print came out with errors.

As I can see in the commandline, You are still using the sweep command. Loading a Lisp does not modify your existing command. it brings in new. In this case the command is MSWEEP. Learn more on LISP loading and running here.

I had checked the LISP file before uploading it here and it works just fine.
