Dwg to pdf

Hi,

A few days ago I asked if anyone might help me with an issue I was having converting DWG to PDF. I attached screen shots of the problem however, nothing suggested helped resolved my issue.

Either way, I have since ensured the correct layers are being used, set up the correct scale to print etc. When I first asked for help regarding this issue the problem I was experiencing was, I could see my drawing in preview but no text was showing; today I can see the drawing and text in preview however, when I convert it to PDF the text is showing but the drawing is not.....

Please refer to attachments.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alfred,

I am using AC 2017. Please refer to the attached preview from earlier in this thread, you can see everything is included there i.e, titleblock, text and dwg. I set it to plot using monochrome.

Thanks.

Is there something different about the DWG attachment you sent me or, is
the what I sent you earlier? Also in regards to the page set up using A3
fit to scale, that's exactly the same setting I used already.

Hi,

>> I am using AC 2017.

...and service pack?

>> you can see everything is included there i.e, titleblock, text and dwg. I set it to plot using monochrome.

I asked more questions than that. I see that you were using "monochrome.ctb" ... and so my additional questions for that was what happend with another CTB or without CTB, and what about preview.

Plus all the other questions are not answered.

Please don't let us repeat all questions again and again until they are answered.

I don't know what you mean by 'service pack', therefore, I cannot answer
your question. I want monochrome I don't want anything else, in which case
I don't know about any other of the choices.

Hi,

Service packs are additional installation files for an already installed software mainly used for bug fixing.

Start AutoCAD, start command _ABOUT, make a screenshot from that dialog and show that screenshot.

>> I want monochrome I don't want anything else

Well, if you don't change it to any CTB else then you will never ever know if your CTB might be defect.
I have not told you that you have to use it for your project finalization, you are in the phase of diagnostics and so you will have to try also things that do not fit to your final goal, but to help to identify the source of the problem.

But if you think you get it without testing ... then good luck, I'm out then.

>> I don't know about any other of the choices.

My question 1 ==> should be answered with the topmost item in this post

My question 2 ==> Don't you know if you had an older version of AutoCAD installed on your system?

My question 3 ==> I asked for changing the visual style and showed you a screenshot for you to see where you change it, what is missing here or where is the point my description is unclear?

My question 4 ==> When you start command _PLOT on the lower-left side you have a button "Preview" ==> click it and let us know if you see the geometry in the preview or not

My question 5 ==> As I wrote, test it or not

With reference to CBT _ The setting works for the text and titleblock, surely it applies to everything else.... I honestly cannot understand what this has to do with the PDF not displaying the DWG yet displaying the text and titleblock.

Hi,

>> I honestly cannot understand what this has to do with the PDF not displaying the DWG yet displaying the text and titleblock.

Because they are part of viewports they have other color and visual style dependences than the objects placed in paperspace.

I do understand if anyone wants to understand background-info's ... but I don't understand why you don't just try it and see if it changes something or not.

Your screenshot shows that you have not installed any service pack, install first the updates for your AutoCAD and then continue with your tests (Autodesk Desktop App finds the updates for you).

I just opened your dwg and pdfs fine with the same settings.

Are you able to pdf other dwgs without an issue?

Is there anyone here who can help me please.

I am quite new to using Autocad, I presently have AC 2017 and would like to confirm this version converts DWG to PDF directly or, do I need to install Adobe Acrobat?

Hi,

>> Resetting AC Profile did nothing to help!

Well, it was the biggest hope as with clean installations that helped in most cases, as the pc3 files are also reset.

>> Is there anyone here who can help me please.

May be, but I'm also waiting for answers to my questions ... and if I would be in your situation I would try what was suggested by other helpers, not ignoring them.

I have been using AC for approximately two-three months! I have taken on
board all and any advise/suggestions offered on this forum without any
resolve. Please do not undermine my efforts, there is only so much I can do
with advise; if it is wrong advise evidently it won't fix the issue and
that is exactly what has occurred in this instance!

I do not believe I have ignored anyone..... I have taken on board the
suggestions offered, they didn't work, period! I've offered up every
attachment requested from me, I've followed through implementing
advise/suggestions offered to the extent of resetting AC as you suggested
which caused even more problems.

After spending many hours on this issue, back and forth texting, sending
attachments etc, it is apparent no-one knows how to resolve my issue.

Hi,

>> I do not believe I have ignored anyone

My question 1 ==> should be answered with the topmost item in this post

==> from your screenshot: there was no service pack installed and I have not seen any statement you did it

My question 2 ==> Don't you know if you had an older version of AutoCAD installed on your system?

==> have not seen any answer to that

My question 3 ==> I asked for changing the visual style and showed you a screenshot for you to see where you change it, what is missing here or where is the point my description is unclear?

==> have not seen any statement you tried that

My question 4 ==> When you start command _PLOT on the lower-left side you have a button "Preview" ==> click it and let us know if you see the geometry in the preview or not

==> have not seen any answer about if your tried preview and what the result was

My question 5 ==> As I wrote, test it or not

==> you stated that you don't need that as result, so you also don't try that (even if suggested here)

I'm out ... good luck, - alfred -

If you go through the thread you'll see I did respond to you questions.
I've stated repeatedly within the past 2-3 months only have I been using AC
2017, not AC 2015 or, AC 2011.....

Seriously.... I can't understand why you have such a difficult time reading
between the lines, yet you expect me too!
