Why does my line start automatically on the last end point?

So I am using Autocad 2013. There is a weird problem that I face. Initially when I use the autocad everything is normal. However 10-15 minutes after using autocad, when I use my line command - my line automatically starts from the last point I left it in autocad. And in the command window I get a message - "Specify next point or [undo]: " Now I have to press undo so that I can select the starting point of my line.

Any idea as to why such a thing happens?

Why do I not get the normal default option of "Specify first point:"?

What exactly means "my line command" ... do you have a tool that does something special or what is it?

Next time this happens try to type into the command line:

_.LINE<ENTER>

(including underline and point)

Are you then asked for the first point?

my line command simply means - I type in L space (shortcut for line) in the command prompt.

I tried using the _.line in my command prompt, but it still starts from where I left!

Do you have any special devices like a mouse with > 2 buttons, cable-less keyboard, 3d-mouse or something like that?

What version of AutoCAD do you have and what is the service pack you have installed currently (command _ABOUT shows it in the dialog).

_.Line<ENTER> would result in asking "specify the first point" whereas 

_.Line<Space> would result in asking "specify the second point <undo>" with the starting point of the line starting automatically from the last point where I left it in drawing some other line!

Can you please explain this sorcery?

I am not using any special devices, except for a simple Logitech wireless mouse (Logitech M165).

I have autocad 2013 installed in my laptop and it doesn't really show what service pack I have installed with that command.

Start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot from that dialog.

If you have not done any customization's you  can try to reset the AutoCAD settings to default and see if that helps >>>click<<<.

If you have done any customization's then please let us know which ones.

It sounds to me like a keyboard problem -- that your space bar is registering twice when you press it.  Starting a Line command and then hitting Enter/space starts the Line from the end of the latest Line or Arc or Polyline drawn [and at a tangent continuation direction if that was an Arc or Polyline arc segment].  You should get the same second-point prompt if you do Line <ENTER> <ENTER>, assuming an Enter key that is not similarly registering double.  A further test: try Line <Space> in a new drawing, in which you haven't drawn anything yet, and if you get a "No line or arc to continue" message, that can only be the result of a double Enter/space, not of any customized definition of the Line command or something.

A Space-bar malfunction would also explain why it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't, since a mechanical issue can be sporadic.  Its being normal for a while before the problem develops could be a matter of the condition developing as things warm up.

The problem has been solved. Thanks guys for all the prompt answers!

However, I just uninstalled and reinstalled AUTOCAD on my laptop and everything was back to normal!
