Dwg file not valid

I have AutoCAD 2024 and Inventor 2024 installed on my computer. I am currently working through the certification on AutoCAD itself, so the DWG came from AutoCAD. I am unable to open the DWG file through the Inventor ACAD or through AutoCAD itself. It says the file is not valid. It also will not even preview the file for me. I've deleted and redownloaded the files many times. I can replicate the sketch for the module by watching the video but I'm assuming this situation will pop up again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Actually your screen capture just shows that the dwg file is read only. Though I do find it strange that a dwg file name would begin with a period and underscore

You are working through a ZIP file: a big no-no. Unzip it to a folder, than use the files all you want.

Since you appear to be mac based... https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/zip-and-unzip-files-and-folders-on-mac-mchlp2528/mac#:~:tex....

if not, then https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/zip-and-unzip-files-f6dde0a7-0fec-8294-e1d3-703ed85e7ebc....

I am not seeing where it says the file is invalid

Where are you seeing this?

You're accessing the zip file to drawings in the wrong location.

Don't look for dwgs in the _MACOSX folders:

Otherwise like you show, you'll get the following error message:

Instead look for dwgs under the folders that begin with 201015_***:

I downloaded the same datasets.zip from the Autodesk Certification Inventor Mechanical Design website and properly located the dwg file and attached is the Bottle Cap.dwg that opens perfectly fine in AutoCAD.

I knew files beginning with ._*** cannot be right.
