Good day

I'm working at the department Building Control and we have a big problem.  The architects that submit's their building plans to us scale is off so we would just like to find out if you dont have a dummy program just for printing that we can install at our office so that we can sort out this problem please.

I would appreciate it if you can come back to me a.s.a.p

Thank you

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Have you tried using the AutoCAD trial yet? It will provide you 30-days of free use, that should be more then enough to change the scale. Also, you could ask them to resubmit.

Hi

The problem is that we don't have architects in the office we use from outside and where they print the plans they have a problem with the scale so thats why we want a dummy program so that we can assist them with the printing of the plans

Any reason you cannot ask these architects to fix their drawings/scales and resend you proper files? I'm curious.

Are they sending your DWG files? If yes, these might help http://www.autodesk.com/products/dwg/viewers
If not, what are they sending you?

Morning

They are using AutoCad to draw the plans and then they save it as pdf and then when they go to print it the scale is out, so I'm not very sure what to do

Sorry and we did sugest they found some other place to print their drawings but they've replied that everywhere they go they have the same problem.  If you can assist Building Control with a program we can arrange for payments if there is any cost involved

Are you sure the problem is not you, in your PDF viewer, forgetting to turn off FIT or SHRINK or not seeting s CUSTOM SCALE in the print pop-up?

Othersie, they need to learn how to print to PDFs to scale to send to you: do you want to go over to their offices and teach them? If you want to help them, that's what you need to do.

There are plenty of Internet teaching resources for them to use, or for you to teach yourself then go over there and teach them. here is a very easy introduction:

Good luck: glad to see you are trying to help them, but you can't really, not with their bad PDFs.
