Drawing sheet in Layout is still visible when maximising a viewport

Morning

I am using AutoCAD 2020. Just to explain the background to the question, I have to work with very congested drawings in model space, lots of overlaid xrefs/blocks etc. I create layouts for printing with viewports and freeze off the elements I do not need to show. I then double click the viewport perimeter to 'maximise' the viewport and then add dimensions/notes as required as it's a cleaner environment to work in.

My question is, in 2020 I have noticed that when I maximise the viewport, the drawing sheet itself is still visible and frozen on the screen in the background. Is there a way to switch the drawing sheet image off? More of an annoyance than anything but I'd not noticed it in previous versions. Screencast link included to show what I mean.

Many thanks

Strange, it was there before I posted, in the 'Insert Screencast' section..

Anyway, hopefully this works: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast/4f903ffc-87e6-4fb8-af7d-36ee5bfd4d69

Hi,

it's a bug for some reason ..... any changes if :

  • enable hardware acceleration from GRAPHICSCONFIG command .
  • restart your AutoCAD.

Yes, hardware acceleration is enabled. I've switched it off, restarted, switched back on, restarted, same issue.

It's strange, it happens on every drawing and only seems to be since upgrading to 2020..

None showing for AutoCAD, just ReCap Pro and Autodesk licensing service which I assume are not related to this?

Yes, same thing happens. I am at a loss at what to do to be honest. I've checked with a colleague running 2018 and all works as expected on their computer.

Hi All

Apologies for re-posting. I still have the issue, screencast here:

https://autode.sk/2wFB8rI

I have tried all previous suggestions with no change to the problem. AutoCAD 2020 has been reinstalled since my original post but there is also no change. Colleagues with same version don't have this problem

Any help appreciated. As the screencast says, it's driving me mad dealing with it every day..

Thanks

I don't see where you posted screenshots of your ABOUT command popup, your GRAPHICSCONFIG command pop-up, if you removed and reinstalled 2020 yet, and if you talked to your IT folks about creating an all new profile for you on your PC to test and see if the problem follows you or not.

Let us know.

The problem has been found to be with the profile, it's not fixed but we know where to start. Thanks for the replies.
