Drawing lines by bearing and distance

I keep trying to draw a line by bearing and distance using the format @50.00'<N80d04'30''E. Everything enters but when I enter the last command of the bearing and hit enter it stays in the red boxed outline and does nothing. Upgraded to 2014 and trying to get things set for drawing property boundaries. Tried setting the units to surveyors mode and such but nothing works.

Welcome to the Forum, I think we can get you going.

1) the Seconds needs followed by the "quote" symbol, not two apostrophes

2) UNITS must be either Architectural or Engineering to accept the distance as feet.  If using Decimal UNITS, omit the apostrophe and just enter the distance as 50 or 50.00

Thank you, I knew it had to be something simple. Works fine now.

Many Thanks.

When I do this, I type in the bearing as noted ie. s31d11'01"e but, the line gets drawn in the NW quadrant.

@nessZ9Q8T Where is "north" in your DWG file? That may be your problem.

I had the directions in my units set as north. I tried changing to east and it worked for that quadrant but now I just tried to go NE and it went to SE.

I have my units set as Surveyor's units for type.

Hi Kerry,
Please post your drawing with command line intact showing what you typed in.

As you can see, I typed s89d06'53"w and the line is in the NW quadrant. The direction in my units is set to North.

I just tried to do it again and this time it did it to the SE quadrant
