I'm using AutoCAD 2019. In paper space, I inserted an image that will have text and objects in front of it. When I select the image and change the draw order to be in the back, it works, but as soon as I change tabs, it goes back to being in the front. I've never had this problems in previous versions. Any ideas on why this is happening?

It did work, thanks. Still don't understand why the send back option doesn't work though.
I am having this same problem and its driving me insane. I just updated and am working with existing drawing files....a lot of them. so your telling me that i have to go back through ALL my files and redraw any mtext objects with background mask and ALL my wipeouts... on all my drawings files!? talk about a glitch, this needs a patch not a work around. i'm about to have to revert back to 2018 because i cant afford to recheck every drawing i work with for draw order problems.
We are having the same problem. We put text over a picture or solid and then switch layouts and the text disappears. Have to send picture to the back for text to show every time. Still have a copy of 2018 installed in the office and this is not a problem. Hope Autodesk can come up with a fix soon because we tried the move/copy thing and did not work.
Same Issue flipping between layout tabs removes set up draw order. Batch plot not possible each layout has to have all draw order elements reset. Regen doesn't solve. Having to revert to 2018 until solved!!!
Same problem here. Boarder reference file won't stay behind text. Even If I import and explode to simple line work and hatches. the hatches won't stay behind the text.
2019.0.1 draworder it's not working when switching layouts, even with these workarounds.
It works.
Select objects in your prefered order or use draworder and select all objects with window selection.
Try this menumacro: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/draw-order-issues-with-2019/m-p/7970717#M931377
or upload your example (dwg and screenshot after draworder, so we can see the goal)

No problem.
option: move objecs by side.
copy the blockreference (back) and then copy the line on it (back), switch between layout - it works well.
Theses steps are done in the linked menumacro.

Or as i said, use draworder, copy all objects by window selection, erase the source objects - it works to.

yeah,
now all you have to do is go through all 1000 of your dynamic blocks and fix the draw order.
now you have to just make sure you go through every sheet of every drawing you revise
now everytime you try to print drawings from AUTOCAD you have to check the draw order on every sheet.
this is a convoluted b/s workaround. AUTODESK needs to patch this, there is no **** reason for the updated version to not read the draw order set in 2018 version. i feel like im taking crazy pill and everyone is acting like this doesn't basically break 2019LT if you use AUTOCAD to create drawings.
I am sure they working hard on it.
"now all you have to do is go through all 1000 of your dynamic blocks and fix the draw order." and so on..
Every one how had 2019 license can also use 2018, so use 2018.
We are all in the same boat.

Hey guys,
I just got this from autodesk customer support.
Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2019.0.1 Update Draw Order Hotfix
"This was posted last Thursday but didn't seem to show up on our web site until today. Also, it is not coming down via the Autodesk Desktop App, as we normally expect nowadays. It is a manual file-copy install."
I had to put the acdb23.dll file from zip onto desktop then replace the file in
C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Autocad2019
Hope this works, it work for us.
This hotfix does not solve all 2019 draw order issues. Businesses have deadlines. We don't have time to go back through hundreds of sheets to play copy and paste pattycake. This is why I still have a copy of 2016 on my computer. I never used 2017 because of the broken viewbase issues, skipped 2018 because I was too gun shy to upgrade, and now this. This is nothing but free advertising for Solidworks.
