I had the same issue, here is your answer.

In R2014, you can use the Autodesk DGN tool
http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-C2-AE-dgn-hot...

OR a freeware from the Autodesk Exchange Apps store called Zombi Killer:
http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/ACD/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3azombiekill...

Don't forget to properly PURGE your file as nestly2 advises above too.

Hi,

You mean MTEXT? Otherwise there would not be a toolbar launched?

At least no, my AutoCAD does not crash after double clicking a MTEXT object.

It might be more efficient if you tell us what AutoCAD release and service pack you are using (or which vertical product, if it's a vertical), if you get the issue with every drawing or just some specific ones, if you get the crash when you have disabled your hardware acceleration, what operating system and what graphic card you have.

Otherwise you might have to wait months until someone finds this thread and has the same issue. That won't help, I guess 😉

Alfred, this all started once I installed 2105. when I double click of text or created text my tool bar launches for the mtext. It happens on any drawing at anytime. I have done all the service pack updates with Autodesk and they have no answer other than to blame microsoft.

Hi,

...if you get the crash when you have disabled your hardware acceleration, what operating system and what graphic card you have...

???

>> I have done all the service pack updates

Start command _ABOUT, make a screenshot from that dialog (mask your serial before, if it's visible) and upload that screenshot.

Hi,

thank you for that info's. The screenshot was done with one click too much as that does not show the current servicepack, it should look like that:

What you can try now to verify if it has something to do with the AutoCAD profile: can you create a new WIndows user, login with that account and see if that happens within that context too?

What had you already tried when you had direct contact with Autodesk support?
