Do I need a transformation file for 3TM coordinate system?

hi - I understand that I need to install the NTv2 file for NAD27 to NAD83 transformations, but I'm wondering if I also have to get a transformation file for 3TM coordinate conversions.  If so, is there some documentation somewhere?  I found info, on a Rand blog, about the NTv2 file, but so far, nothing that would cover 3TM (or 10TM transformations).  I'm currently using Civil 3d 2014, in Alberta, with hopes to upgrade to 2015 in the near future.

Thanks

Hello there, I spoke to one of my Map 3D colleagues and they do not believe that you need to get the 3TM file. The NTv2 should cover it and you should be able to then assign the other coordinate system.

Is that not the case?
