Homework for school?

Look up both in HELP: the descriptions explain both. Then experiment with each.

Hi @Anonymous,

From the help file like Dean mentioned;

  • QDIM This command is particularly useful for creating a series of baseline or continued dimensions, or for dimensioning a series of circles and arcs.
  • DIMCONTINUE Creates a dimension that starts from an extension line of the previous or selected dimension.

I also added a few additional resources for you to look into.

Post back in the thread if you are unable to execute the commands suggested.

@Anonymous,

I know exactly how you feel. I graduated from school about 3.5 years ago and I continue to learn new things till this day. For the most part learning/studying continues even after you're done with school in all aspects of life.

The one tip that I would give that helped me become more familiar with the software is practice,Google (everything) haha, YouTube and public forums like this AutoCAD community. The more eyes on an issue the better off I was on gaining different perspectives/work flows. Also you're not alone most people have the same or similar questions and issues.

If you run into any other issues or just want to share a work flow go ahead and post in the community. I'm sure other users will be more than willing to share their input.

Good luck.

@Anonymous,

I followed along with the video and tried to compare what you got as a result. I think you might have the DYNMODE system variable set to something different.

Try adjusting your DYNMODE, look to the article here. If the issues still happens try to reset your settings to default( save a copy of your settings if need be.)
