Dashed Line appearing rounded, not square

Hi,

I'm recreating elements of a drawing, one of which is a drainage run, the original drawing uses a line type that is a dashed line that appears thick & is square at the ends. I assumed that was done by using line weight, however at the end of each dash the end appears round not square, I've attached a picture of them both for you to see (attached).

the problem could be in your ctb file, adjust the line end style under the properties section.

Hi,

The dashed line is assigned a global width and not line weight. Line's with line weight will have a rounded edge🙂. I hope this clarifies your doubt.

Can anyone please let me know if you are able to adjust the "global width" in CAD lite? If so, where/how? Thank you!

That is a characteristic of Polylines only [see the Properties palette], so anything you want to have that would need to be one or be converted into one.

The lines I'm referencing are Polylines, they are dashed like the other posters example, but like theirs the ends of each of the dashes are rounded.  I'm trying to figure out how to stop them from being rounded.

What global width do they have [pick one and look at its Properties]?  If it's zero, that is probably the cause -- change it to a non-zero value and don't use lineweight.

Thank you! For some reason ONE line that I had selected wasn't a polyline so I wasn't seeing where to change the global width but now that I've corrected that I've gotten it updated and that works perfect.  Thank you for explaining!

YES. Specifically:

Plot dialog window -> ctb properties popup -> table view -> set the first color to “Butt”, right-click ‘line end style’ -> apply to all styles
