Cursor Lags

Hi everyone,

I am using AutoCAD 2022 and I have this annoying problem, my cursor, when it is in the model space, it starts lagging. It happens only when I am in the model space. I checked online and someone said "turn off Hardware Acceleration", it worked but I needed to use the point cloud, so it is not a good choice for me.  I deactivate some feature suggested in this forum, it didn't work. I updated my graphic card and nothing.

there is a way to use the point cloud without the mouse lag? I almost try everything I read on this forum, but nothing works. Until yesterday I used 2021 and I never had this problem.

Thank You

Stefano

FOR SOME REASON, when I have this issue, i double click a block, this opens the block editor and i immediately close it. Seems it releases some captive memory i'm guessing. I'm thinking this would be an alternate solution to someone who may have the same issue as I have.

to add to this topic, i also noticed a similar problem on my system. However it is a bit more weird, the cursor was only stuttering if i had my AutoCAD on Fullscreen (not the AutoCAD fullscreen (ctrl+0) but the windows fullscreen), in windowed mode the stuttering was gone. Also the cursor was only stuttering on one of my Monitors on the other one it was fine. Very weird..

For me switching to GFXDX12 - 0 also resolved the issue

'CURSORTYPE=1' (mousepointer) solved this issue for me (Civil2023)

The lagging skipping freezing stuttering cursor issue was only while IN a command (ANY command) but before the first click for the command's start point (example RECT, Circle, Line, etc., etc.)   Problem just started a week ago, and nothing has fiixed this except the Cursortype solution. (DX12 > 11 had no effect, Snap/grid mode, while appearing similar, was not the issue)...

Out of curiosity, i tried CURSORTYPE=0 (crosshair) with CURSORSIZE decreased from 5 to 3 and while the problem was still present it was noticeably improved. But the only way ive found to completely fix this is CURSORTYPE=1 (mousepointer)

I just fought with this little annoyance to no avail with all options given here. However I did find a remedy. Call the "UCSDETECT" command and set it's value to zero. This fixed my problem immediately... found on reddit mind you so I figure this would be a better home for that information.

Since I had this issue of laggy panning, mouse moving, ect, and i seem to have solved it, I thought I'd chime in.

Since I'm working in C3D21, there is no option to switch from DX12->DX11 since it's already DX11.

None of the other options suggested here changed a thing.

I have a solid machine, everything is in my sig, so this kind of behaviour is just...doesn't make sense.

HOWever, i did manage to upgrade the behaviour:

1. windows graphics options - add the autocad.exe to the list, and set it to "high performance"

2. use your board and cpu management apps, and lift the cooling fans profiles to a higher speed and noise. that way it'll stay cooler (obviously) in the moments where you need more power. instead of waiting for adjustments when the power draw occurs. I've done so for my card, and whole case+cpu. And performance drops - dropped 🙂 just a bit more consistanat behaviour.

That's my 5c for tonight.

Cheers,

Iggy
