Crossing Polyline Hatch Area

What year will Autodesk finally get around to calculate a hatch area for a crossing polyline? It's obviously solved the area problem in displaying the hatch with holes. 

Is there a reason why Autodesk wouldn't provide the hatch area?

Hi,

click on below image to see when hatch be edited in a way to be self intersect . when that happened you will lose area information directly .  you have to solve those intersected points to get area info.
