Creating a linetype with parallel lines

Hello

I'm trying to create a certain linetype which should constantly repete like this:

Unbenannt.jpg

I've tryed the makeshape route, but it only seems to reconize the longest of the three lines.

My .lin file also wont work with the shape file I've created:

*PARALLEL,Parallel
A,-0.001,[test,6.03_1-2.shx],-18

Can any one help me?

Thanks J

Would the command mline do what you need?

You can adjust the distance between the lines, I havn't used it for sometime but it is still in Autocad 2014.

Hello lesleys

No, mline wont work. I'm working on  a company standard which every other person has to use.

Hi Josh

Is that your company standard or your clients?

If its your company standard could they not be revised to accept that?

If its your clients (We have some with very detailed standards so I do understand) could you "cheat by using mline then exploding so they are the single lines?

Not ideal but sometimes you just have to "cheat" Smiley Happy

Hello lesleys

Thanks for your quick reply again!

Its for the standard in our company, we would like to have every drawing look excatly the same and not the mess we are having at the moment...

I think you didnt see my desiered linetype correctly though, as it wouldnt work with mline:

linetype.png

Its a constant line on the top, 3m gap -> 6m line -> 3m gap -> 6m line -> .....

Or am I missing something?

Cheers Josh

Josh

If you type MLSTYLE you can create a new multiline stlye that would have one of the lines continuous & the other can be any of Autocad linetypes that you choose.

I assume if you create a linetype of your own to match your dash gaps etc you could probably use that. Would that work for you?]

You could then call it something to suit your standards & I would think would somehow be able to let your other users have it as well.

Hope this helps but reached the limit of what I can suggest for you. Good luck Smiley Happy

Hello lesleys

Thanks for that tipp!

I had a look at it with a coworker and we're both not very happy with that solution. Our goal is to get a simple little linetype, which is ordered like all others...

Any other users got an idea how to create a linetype like that?

Thanks!
