creating a 3d object from a wireframe

I made a 3D looking wire frame that is basically a triangle wrapped around a cylinder.

I have not found a way to turn this into a 3D object.  

It won't even let me join all the lines together.  or the convtosolid command.

I made the triangle using the helix command at different diameters.

Using the geometry already in that drawing:

 

First set the view/UCS to Right, then Extrude the helix 0.200

Then Thicken by -.125

Mirror new solid

Create outer cylinder

Prep with "V" cut

Subtract

Union center shaft

You actually need to close your lines so you can convert them to surfaces, once that is done the convert to solid should not be a problem.
