Hi,

welcome @forums.autodesk.com!

>> Could I run Autocad Architecture 2016 on it?

There are three essential informations missing

  • how much memory is build in
  • which graphic card is build in
  • how big are your architectural projects

Without these info's no one an say "yes" or "no".

As @ennujozlagam already mentioned the system requirements are a good point to start, but the minimum requirements have to be understood as "minimum requirements for minimum size of projects"!

Hi, Alfred:

Thanks for responding!    My laptop It is a Dell Precision M6500 running Win 7 Ultimate sp1 64 bit, Intel Core i7 CPU q740 @ 1.73 GHz, RAM: 8GB, with an ATI FirePro M7740, driver 8.632.1.2000.    I don't know much more than that.   And my projects are small to medium size, residential all of them.

Could this info help you at all to decide your advise?

Hi,

>> Intel Core i7 CPU q740 @ 1.73 GHz

>> RAM: 8GB

1.73GHz is quite slow, 8GB is for small projects ok, medium projects could get critical, but I would say ok to start. Just make sure that within the laptop you have place to add additional memory later in case you recognize that you need it.

Thanks, Alfred!

I may end up buying a used Toshiba Satellite P-75 A7200 that could do it a bit better, according to my techie; but is good to know that in a pinch I could use my Dell for 2D drafting.

I can't see the "solved" button in this page but I am happy with your response.

Thnx,

Taruno
