Copy to Clipboard failed ..... Urgent Issue

Anonymous
Not applicable

Dear Team,

We are using AutoCAD LT and Full Version from 2012 to 2016. But in some of our drawings we are not able to copy a selected part of drawing. It always shows " COPY TO CLIPBOARD FAILED" . We have tried it over different PC using different OS like Windows 7 / 8 / 10 with different version of AutoCAD.

Please help to short out this issue.

Thanks,

Everest Industries Limited.

check out this article on the issue and see if it helps. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-...

I might also try other methods of getting the elements into the other drawings if the above doesn't solve it. I might try saving it out as a block, or inserting the dwg into the drawings you are wanting to copy the information.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community.

From the description you have provided of your problem it sounds like you might have proxy objects in your drawing. I would look for them and possibly install the appropriate Object Enablers. You can also run EXPORTtoAUTOCAD to create a new drawing without them.

The error might also be due to some corrupt data. I suggest that you run Audit, purge, and -purge>regapps.
