Copy/Paste error from AutoCAD to Inventor Sketch

Anonymous

Hi!

I have an error, when copy from autocad 2017 to sketch in inventor 2017.

I have seen this page: http://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-93153D08-1766-41D1-9951-D2C9A14F3605 but it does not fix that

And

I have an error, when open or copy and paste object by Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V on the Autocad 2017.

I think these two errors are related to each other but i can't fix it .

Can you help me fix it!

Thanks!

Hi,

To be check CAD file, use wblockEXPORTTOAUTOCAD if you tired these two commands, COPY/PAST to new cad file and save.

Then you try to past sketch in inventor 2017.

1. You may want to add the missing language support to your Windows - e.g. asian languages, cyrillic (Control Panel > Languages, Regional settings), or you can just ignore the message (especially if the codepage is "undefined"). Just check the drawings texts and symbol names (block names, layer names...) for possible garbled characters, missing accents, etc.

2. re-install of Autocad to see if this fixes your problem

3. try  DXFOUT  at the command line and DXFIN

I do not know what language is missing.

I did Reset Settings To Default - Autocad but it's still error.

Dxfout, Dxfin all can't fix it

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Perhaps this is a stupid question but have you tried opening the dwg with Inventor instead of using a copy/paste?  Have you tried freezing all the text prior to the copy/paste?

The error looks like it is having issues with regional settings (OS perhaps does not match the localization of the applications).

I am happy to look at a dwg and this work flow if you can provide a sample and some more details about your computer.

Hi @Anonymous,

Please share one of the AutoCAD files so I can test this on my side to determine what might be causing this issue.

Thank everyone!

I found a solution for copy/paste from AutoCAD to Inventor Sketch.

Control Panel\Clock and Region\Region\Adminitrative (tab)\Change system locale...

and UNCHECK  Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support
