Copied Views With Links to Their "parent" view

<span;>Is there a method that allows me to copy a 2D view and link all lines in that copied view it's "parent" view?

<span;>I want show a 2D assembly in two states: 

<span;>1)  One view showing it installed (lines in the assembly trimmed, etc, to give the appearance of being behind other components) &

<span;>2)  All lines shown when detailing is required.

Why copy when you can just have multiple pspace vports looking at same objects in model space using vplayer to control what layers show
