Convert block back to title block or border?

We have a title block and border which is used in MS.  If this is referenced using AMTITLE then it acts as expected.  We issue these to some external people to create our drawings but they have been using CTRL-C and V to place them in a new drawing.  ACAD does now not see them as a Title block or border but as blocks.  We have a process to bring DWG's into SAP and this will check for a title block and border.

The issue is we need to fix these drawings and currently this means removing the borders and title blocks and placing new ones then adding all the attributes again.  Is there a way to convert the blocks back to how they should be?

Thanks,

Guy

AMTITLE is a 3rd party solution: buy it for your external users (or ask them to buy it and bill you) and your problem goes away. Beyond that, you could provide them with titleblocks in blank drawings to use: you have to be the source for your AMTITLE tool. That way you totally control the files.

Or demonstrate to your external users how to 'reference' instead of copy/paste if that's an option without your AMTITLE tool. Try it and find out, then share the knowledge with them.

Hope that helps.

is is this a third party aplication, or part of Autodesk Mechanical?  presuming the latter, do you partners have Mechanical, or are they working in autoCAD?  same version, or a different version?

Sorry I should have made things a bit more clear.  They are using Mechanical 2011 and also 2009.  We have provided our border and title block templates for them to use.  I think that they are using C&P to bring them in to a new drawing rather than using the AMTITLE command.  Does copy and pasting change the attributes of a title border?  I'm trying to work out exactly how they have crated the problem (They say they are working as per our guidelines) so I can provide evidence and a supplementary guide to explain they need to enforce this.

Thanks,

You must educate your Partners to use AMTITLE instead of Copy and Paste. The Borders and Title Blocks need to be copied to the correct folder (will be different for XP and Windows 7), so when they run AMTITLE the data is available.
