You "don't know a thing about code", but you use any found muck?

If you know that you are using a special program extension/tool, please share to check whatever it is.

Normaly you don't need more than 128 selection-sets at the same time (that why the message appears).

No no,

i am thinking you are using a function/Command that does not belong to AutoCAD

and this program extension makes problems!

Whats your program/version?

AutoCAD?

AutoCAD MEcheanical?

2013?

2016?

Check this by using command: ABOUT

And ABOUT stated that your system is up to date? Productversion 2018.1.2 - ok

Close all Acad instances, start Autocad by this way:

[WIN]+[R]

Open: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2018\acad.exe" /safemode

Is it working? Good.

When AutoCAD starts and you work, expect the following:

You want to execute a command "as always" but that does not work now.
If so, what is the command, how do you start the command, post a screenshot.

Please confirm:

>"I keep getting this error and then I can't do anything anymore."

You mean this error message:  "Command: QSAVE ; error: exceeded maximum number of selection sets fixing" ?

?

>"I don't know a thing about code so changing that would be really hard. can anyone help?"

Why do you talk about "Code" ?

>"right now i have to restart every 30 minutes and it works awfull I can't always save my drawing."

"Every 30minutes" sounds like an license problem, but not if you liked to say that ever 30min. appears the message about selectionsets..

Please continue to work in the AutoCAD which you have started on my way.
We are waiting for a problem like "Command unknown" or similar

and this is the point we need to know: What you are trying in this moment!?

I haven't had the error message since i opened autocad via the windows key

I still however have the bug every half hour/ every hour.

I've been busy the entire day editing dimensions of more specific the arrows.

So i think you have two independent problems.

1. Third part function creates more then 128 selection-sets parallel

You have to find which program extension you are using during the day..

2. The other one, I don't know, but if the problem appears by an fix interval, i guess Acad tries to call home.

Google for "AutoCAD License timeout" or similar. Like this: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/network-license-administration/managing-network-lice...
