Hello,
We're using AutoCAD Map 3D 2018 and 2019. We often receive .dwg files that were created in Civil 3D (various versions), and we'd like to install object enablers for M3D to be able to handle the C3D-specific objects.
It is not clear to me what the version of the object enabler (e.g. 'Autodesk Civil 3D 2021 Object Enabler') refers to:
Does it refer to the version of C3D that the data was created with? If so,
- Could we install that same OE (e.g. 'Autodesk Civil 3D 2021 Object Enabler') on both our M3D 2018 and M3D 2019 machines?
- Would this OE also be able to handle data that was created with all previous C3D versions, or would every C3D version that we receive data from require a separate OE? If separate OEs are needed, would we be able to install multiple OE versions on the same machine (e.g. C3D 2021 OE + C3D 2020 OE + C3D 2019 OE... on one M3D 2018 machine)?
or does it refer to the version of AutoCAD that this OE is to be used with? If so,
- Would we need the 'Autodesk Civil 3D 2018 Object Enabler' for our M3D 2018 machines and the 'Autodesk Civil 3D 2019 Object Enabler' for our M3D 2019 machines?
- Would these OEs be able to handle data that was created with the latest C3D version (e.g. Civil 3D 2021) and all previous C3D versions?
Thank you in advance for any clarification!
