Good morning, need a little help please. I am working in a .dwg file I have created from scratch and I need to change the width of a particular default text style I use. I will be thankful for all suggestions.

If you have the time could you share what worked for you. This will help other users who might come across the same problem.

Sure, I didn't because I felt it was just basic knowledge for most. I use two text styles in my drawings, pipe.shx and bold.shx. Pipe.shx is setup with a height of 10" and a width of .8. In this particular drawing the pipe.shx text was entering with the proper height but with a width of 1.0. I was able to correct this by going into "Dimension",  "Dimension Style", choosing the style from the list and then click "Modify". In the "Text" tab and in the "Text Appearance" section and beside "Text Style" I clicked on the square icon with the three dots (DIMTXSTY) a dialog box opens up and inside that box are a number of options, one of which is the text width. This not only globally applied these changes to all my existing and future dimensions but also set my future text using pipe.shx to the desired width. I went into the .dwt file and did the same.

I'm sure that I went the long way around to fix my issue but that's all I could come up with. It seems I remember that all the adjustments for a particular text are somewhere else.

Anyway my way did what I needed.

Thanks,

Russell
