Cant get file to scale properly when trying to export to PDF or to Plot as PDF

Hi all you experts!  I have a drawing with 2 layout pages and when I try to export or to plot the drawing is taking up only a corner of the paper size.  I  have fooled around with the file, but can't seem to get it to scale properly.  My aim is for a PDF in page size ARCH D.  Please help!

ALSO, I WANT TO USE THIS AS A TEMPLATE.  ALSO I WANT TO SCALE THIS FOR 11X17.  I AM A DESIGN PROFESSIONAL AND MY CLIENT IS WAITING FOR DRAWINGS.  IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP?  I USED A PRIOR DRAWING FILE AND MY GOAL IS TO START A NEW TEMPLATE WITH BETTER LAYER ORGANIZATION, ETC.  I HAVE THAT FILE NOW AND AM TRYING TO GET THIS TO ALL WORK CORRECTLY.  I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY PRIOR FILE OTHER THAN IT WAS A BIT MESSY AND I LIKE MY NEW TITLEBLOCK BETTER BUT I CANNOT GET IT FORMAT CORRECTLY.

Daniel,

somehow I got to the settings you suggested and it IS working.  Can you walk me through setting up the titleblock and the file settings as my template?  (I know this is another a question and can repost if necessary).  Also is there a way to make this titleblock that is now set for 36 x 24 for 11x17 without screwing everything up?

1) Setting up for different sheet size(s) will require a separate title block for each size (unless you want to make it a dynamic block with different visibility states for each sheet size), may require a bit of trial & error to get it exactly as you want.

2) I just have plain Vanilla ACAD, so don't know if Architecture version works differently....

3) You may want to look up page setups/publishing in help....

4) maybe also turn off caps lock, unless you mean to yell....not sure why you would though

5) starting point was open the file, then look at page setups (in output tab) saw that setup2 was still there & looked correct, then select both layout tabs, right-click & select "Publish selected layouts", select both layouts in the publish window, choose setup2, then hit "Publish".....

Maybe I am answering the wrong question?

I see your newer post that went up while I was typing (sorry, slow typist)

If I have time tomorrow, I will look at setting up an 11x17 title block, are there other sizes that you need?

You will need a different VP scale for smaller sheet, I don't know if that will break anything you have set up or not.....

Hi

You're over complicating the issue. What Alfred has posted earlier is the way to correct method of sorting your issues on all cad samples you've attached.

Before you start making/editing your title block make sure to go to the page setup and where it says "What to plot:" Choose "Layout" (not extents, display or window)and click ok. This needs to be done on all active layouts you intend to publish from paperspace.

After that start editing/move your title block onto the white page area before you print to PDF.

Sorry reply to wrong person ; ;

In the attached zip file is a copy of your file with title blocks created for D-size and 11x17 (only on 1 layout), also a template with nothing but those 2 title blocks. They are intended to be a starting point for you to work forward, although they may work for your current project in a time-crunch. Going forward, look into help for info on defining attributes, and (I recommend) sheet sets, as well as using fields for some of the attributes so they will auto-update depending on values in the sheet set such as layout name, etc.

Hope this helps you to move forward...let me know if I can help further- hopefully I didn't cause more confusion than solve....

I did do that.  The issue is something else.   I've printed title blocks before. Maybe it has something to do with using AutoCAD architecture.

Is it safe to assume you are on the right track now?

Let us know if there is still something not working.
