Cant create a text linetype

I have tried a few times now and even when i copy and paste pre made linetype pattern it keeps saying something is wrong.

I want to make multiple landscape edging linetype 

such as;

---- E1 ---- E1

---- E2 ---- E2

---- E3 ---- E3

can someone help me please

What's the content of your .lin file look like for that linetype?

The easiest way to make a text linetype is the LTfly utility (free) - just type the text string(s). See:
