Hi,

>>" i checked ignore dimension lines"

There is no option for this, just for:

"Object snaps ignore endpoints of dimension extension lines."

Only ENDpoints, and ONLY dimension lines,

no midpoint or per filter, no arrows or extension lines filters.

You have to work well with the mouse to control the snap-points, no extra trick

To the best of my knowledge when you have snaps turned on they will always interact with the designated points. You could try turning them all off and then turn them on as needed or just tinker until you have the one's turned on that you use most.

there are 2 places i go to for these options.  one is the drafting tab in options where i check mark ignore dimension extension lines and the other is filter options in the snap settings the am preferences.  so i am all out of ideas.

What are you working on that this is causing an issue, if you don't mind my asking.

Are you trying to move or stretch items?

Are you drawing and this is causing incorrect placement of some sort?

Are you having dimensions pull to other dimension lines or nodes?

Right,

OSOPTIONS

For this, read my post above.

As i wrote: There are no "ignore" setting, not in AutoCAD.

If you turn off the end point snap it should work.

"is it possible to ignore the dimension arrows? because that's what im snapping to. "

Don't do that, that's the terrible Trick.

You zoom in and move your cursor to the object in question.

(share a small sample DWG with one "wrong" placed dimension - so we can talk about this one situation)

@simonquinn It is easy to assume what we all wish, but if you look it up in HELP, it explains the limitations

And that's MIDPOINT, not ENDPOINT, and at the arrow, not the extension

You'll need to FREEZE the layer the dims are on or temporarily hide them using this right-click menu option

I do see what you mean. That's one of the reasons I was trying to get some clarity about what you are doing. Do you just happen to have dimension arrows near other objects you are working with?

it is snapping to midpoint and endpoint.  i just happen to get a snapshot of what is happening.  did you want a snapshot connecting to the endpoint as well?
