Can't convert surface to solid, watertight issue.

Hello,

I'm having trouble converting this surface to a solid.

The error seems to be that the surface is not watertight.

Can someone help me with this?

Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to AutoCAD Forum,

>> I'm having trouble converting this surface to a solid. <<

i suggest to try THICKEN command . put proper thickness value and your model shape will convert to 3d solid .

Hello,

Is it possible to convert it into a solid block without it being hollow inside?

I have tried the thicken command but I'm having trouble to make it into a whole solid block.

Thanks.

Hi,

Error message seems to be correct (same on both sides):

Hello,

Thanks for helping me find the gap, I have tried several ways to patch it but to no success.

I'm trying to make it into a solid block.

Thanks.

Hi,

you might start a different way: start with a simple box (with the size of extents of your object).

Then run command _SLICE with your curved surface.

Good luck, - alfred -

Hello,

I tried to Slice the curved surface but it gave me this error: SLICE failed for selected solid.

EDIT: Added attachment.

Turns out the grid lines I used to make the curves before surfaces was very slightly misaligned, which causes it to not form a watertight surface.

I re-did it with a solid block this time and thickened the surfaces before subtracting it from the block. Then used a series of union and subtract and formed what I wanted.

Thank you all for your help!
