Can draw only horizontal lines

Hello,

I have 3D line drawing. Suddenly I found that I can draw only horizontal line when drawing is in any position except "Top" and "Bottom" position according to  ViewCube. Hhy?

How to draw other then horizontal line in non Top and Bottom view?

Hi,

welcome @Anonymous!

You have to create a UCS (user coordinate system) to tell AutoCAD the plane you want to work on (>>>details<<<).

To be more explicit about the why:  You are looking at the drawing plane on-edge, so no matter what you draw on that plane, it's in that "line" from the on-edge point of view.  Changing the UCS as suggested turns the drawing plane so that you are looking at it from above, the way you look at the XY plane in any new drawing.

The very important variable in such a case is named UCSORTHO.

If you turn it off, in a viewport, then the UCS won't ever change if you apply one of the 6 faces of the dice !

Doing so is better before learning or starting to use UCS command.
