Sticky cursor when connected to other networks than office net

Since several years and several Autoacd releases, with several laptops to, i faced the same problem when drawing connected to other networks than office net.

In such circumstances the cursor become sometime sticky on any object (line, dimension, etc.).
it happens erraticly around 4-5 times in a minute.

If i disconenct the laptop from the network (both LAN or WIFI) the problem disappear.

When I work connected to the office Network there is no problem to.
do someone can help me to find a solution to this problem?

thank you.

Hi,

That means your AutoCAD searches for paths to the office network. This can be a path in the AutoCAD options, a PC3-file pointing to a network plotter, or some other AutoCAD settings.

But also network-printers you have installed on your laptop might influence AutoCAD as they are checked by AutoCAD for availability.

Every network connected path or device to your office could create this conflict.

If network is disabled the system knows that it does not make sense to search for the availability of a network device or path/mapping. But if the network is active it scans for the devices/paths.

Hi,

thank you.

After having checked that every path was linked to local hard disk and after having removed all the network printers the problem persists, so I try changing some parameters in the configuration and at the end i found the cause of my troubles: it is the variable ROLLOVERTIPS.

After having disable it the problem disappear.

Hi,

thank you for your feedback, hanging cursors by default let me think about SELECTIONCYCLING as well as ROLLOVERTIPS at first ... but not with dependence of having network on or off, that is interesting.

But good to know you have it working now 😉

Hi,
you’re right. it also confuse me. I do not see what kind of relation there could be between a display message and network... hard to believe but but it’s really like that! ))
