Can Autocad Map insert, link or connect a COG image, (Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF)?  (Sample)

I know adding an Geo Reference Tiff is usually done with the MAPIINSERT Command or FOD.

Has anyone done this with a COG image? - If so, explain the process.

I think you'll have more chance of finding someone with COG experience in the MAP3D forums

Personally I haven't had any experience with COG's yet, but since the format is not in the list, I don't think you can already connect it. You can always try to make a Raster Image connection and see what happens.

Post an idea, or contact Autodesk custom support to ask them to implement the feature in future releases.

COGs are actually tiled + pyramid'ed geotiff raster files, this is a really needed feature for users to be able to load massive geotiffs at native resolution, all while interacting with them smoothly - qgis COG support for example is a great example of manipulation of COGs without the need for a tiling server like WMS.
