Bill of Material functions

I am new to the 2015 version of AutoCAD  and was wondering if the version is able to create a BOM from Model space? Reading tutorials it states to go to the Annotate tab then to BOM, but i don't see this function. I would like some guidness to be able to run this function.

I don't think there is a BOM feature in plain autocad. Some verticals like Autodesk Plant etc have this feature.

In plain autocad you can create blocks with attributes and extract this attribute information in excel. (or csv)

There may be add-ons available that make this easier.
