anyone know how to fill an entire shape with batting insulation instead of using the linetype method?

A rather popular [over 1700 downloads] approach of mine is InsulBattPoly.lsp with its IB command, available >here<.  Look at the image attached to the first Comment for more information and the range of possibilities.

You can also put INSULATION into the Search window at that website -- there are a variety of approaches there.
