BASE command help

Im using AutoCAD R2015 English. When I try and use the command BASE (in Layout with no viewport and only one layer) to display orthographic views of my solid model drawn in model space, it fails.

I click on the BASE command and select 'from Model Space' the MOVE command appears in the command line. If I click on the BASE command and select 'from Inventor' the FILLET command appears in the command line.

Is this a known problem or am I doing something wrong?

This is strange behavior.  Is the model itself native to AutoCAD or did it start in another program such as Inventor?

If you type Viewbase and select from model does it behave differently?  I assume you are working in AutoCAD 2015 for Windows as the Mac version does not include this feature.  The command Base is for setting the location of the UCS. Is that what might be causing some confusion?

Is your AutoCAD 2015 fully updated from here?

What is your OS?

* Fully updated is a good question. Initial loading only has not had
any updates
* OS Windows 7
* When I type in Viewbase at the command line and return it goes
nowhere but does add 'Inventor Server failed to load.'

VIEWABLE (if you mean it) command works only in Model layout.

Do you use 32-bit or 64-bit AutoCAD?

HI Maxim - Thanks for the catch.  I suspected that the customer was using the Windows version but the question was posted in the Mac forum.  I have moved it now to the AutoCAD forum so that the customer might receive more appropriate suggestions.

[In case others are confused as I was, this is about the Ribbon's Home tab / View panel / so-called "Base" icon, which is actually about the VIEWBASE command, not the BASE command -- the latter is a command name, and is about something entirely different, so I think they've created a contradiction in the setup of that item.]

From the first OP's Post it is clear that when he click on Viewbase button on the Ribbon and select one of two options, AutoCAD takes only "options" part of the command. As the result it calls Fillet command (for F option) and Move command (for M option) of VIEWBASE command.
There should be something wrong with main CUI file as I think.

Hi @Anonymous,

Is it possible to attach your drawing to a post so I can take a look?  If it is prompting the Inventor failed then there is something wrong with the model.

IF you are also seeing other command pop up then I suggest typing CUI and then rt-clicking on the ACAD menu and resetting the CUI.

Ive attached a typical 3D solid model which when I try and use Base
(from Model Space) the MOVE command is loaded. My OS is Windows7 62bit.
I tried to load R2015 updates as suggested but it refused saying I have
an AutoCAD English version.

Hi Clive,

There is no 62-bit Windows, only 32-bit or 64-bit. I asked about this because VIEWBASE command only available in 64-bit AutoCAD version.

So I'm asking one more time:
Do you use 32-bit or 64-bit AutoCAD?

1. No file attached here.  Are you using web browser to respond or are you using phone?

2. Viewbase, not Base and PaperSpace not ModelSpace.

3. Post image of this download.

I am using paper space. Were I mentioned (from Model Space) this is the
prompt when clicking on the BASE command.
Please find attached a trial 3D Model which when you go into the BASE
command the MOVE command is loaded.
