Hi,

I am working as a autoCAD draughtsman in dubai in marble company. Here, we make shopdrawing for marble flooring and wall cladding with rectangles, squares and some time polyline also. After finish the shopdrawing we have to make cutlist of marbles. as we know after finish a shopdrawing we got thousands of rectangles, square and polylines. For making the cutlist i have to provide the unique name ,area, length and width of similar stone.

for this i am using the dataextraction command.from this i can find the area ,length and width of each stone in excel file. this command is helpfil for me. but it is time consuming for me to give unique name for similar stone so i want to link  this extracted data from excel to autoCAD for automatic generation of name for similar stone.

My question, Is it possible of automatic generation of unique name for similar stone from extracted data excel file?

If there is any option please suggest me.

thanks

santosh

Hi @Anonymous,

and welcome to the forums.

What about Blocks and Attributes? Blocks can contain different information for similar objects.

If you are not familiar with Attributes, I have collected some information for you.

Tutorial video.

If you need more assistance, don't hesitate to ask.

It will be helpful if you can upload an example drawing.

Yes, shrayan, I understood this...

You need to convert them into blocks to use attributes.

Hi @Anonymous,

just checking if you wish to continue this conversation. Is it an option for you to convert the polygons into blocks?

We will be happy to support you with questions on this topic. But we need more information from you.

Thank you
