AutoCAD - Line Segments

Hello,

I am using AutoCAD 2017.

I have set my max hatch scale by a system variable "MaxHatch" which works nicely for keeping annotative hatch visible in a particular view.  However, I would also like to keep my hatch boundaries linework from disappearing from view.  Is there a similar setting for setting the max line segments that can be viewed at a particular scale ?

Hi,

What type of "linework" are the borders? If they are polylines/lines/arcs/splines then these objects don't have an annotative setting, so they can't appear/disappear depending on scales.

So the questions are:

  • which type of objects are the boundaries
  • when do they appear, when do they disappear
  • can you upload the drawing so we can test this on our workstations?

Attached is the hatch and linework.  The hatch boundary linework are polylines.

Hi,

Thank you for the drawing!

Looking to the drawing I see:

  • coordinates in a very high area
  • hatches with billions of points
  • polylines with thousands of vertices

...all together handicaps for AutoCAD's display performance!

Anyway: I was able to reproduce the issue, that the polylines (the ones with high numbers of vertices) disappears with a specific zoom factor.

On my system I could get rid of it by starting command _GRAPHICSCONFIG and disable the option "High quality geometry (...)"

If you are able, move your drawing closer to 0,0,0 and your issues should go away, since it is currently 2.3million+ feet away from those coordinates.
